A Healing Rain

As the rain fell on a wintry weekend in Central California, deep secrets began to surface in men's hearts. We just returned from another great weekend of healing through the Every Man's Battle conference. The men who attended were so courageous - not knowing what to expect when they arrived on Friday, they opened up and began to share secrets and struggles with sexual sin and sexual acting out as well as the wounds and lies that for years had bound them to secrecy. God moved in mighty ways in their hearts. Wounds surfaced around past broken relationships, sexual wounding as children and wounds of deep insecurity in who they truly are as men. Actually, for this conference, insecurity seemed to be the most prominent wound that led many of the men to live in an isolated fear for many years. That fear kept many of these men wearing a protected, controlled mask to keep from letting others see there vulnerability. Well, the masks have began to come off! To the men who attended the conference this weekend - you are so brave and loved! Stay strong in weakness as you battle for your heart. Remember Jeff's encouragement to you from Isaiah 35:

Energize the limp hands,
strengthen the rubbery knees.
Tell fearful souls,
"Courage! Take heart!
God is here, right here,
on his way to put things right
And redress all wrongs.
He's on his way! He'll save you!"
Blind eyes will be opened,
deaf ears unstopped,
Lame men and women will leap like deer,
the voiceless break into song.
Springs of water will burst out in the wilderness,
streams flow in the desert.
Hot sands will become a cool oasis,
thirsty ground a splashing fountain.
Even lowly jackals will have water to drink,
and barren grasslands flourish richly. (MSG)

How is your Journey going today? What areas of your heart do you feel the Lord healing and strengthening?
Take Care,
David

David,
I was a participant in last weekend's Fresno seminar. WOW! Thank you for your brutally honest testimony. It set the example for "Full Disclosure" to my wife. I hear other EMB Directors don't focus so much on "Full Disclosure" and that is sad. My wife and I are better off for it today. Anyway thank you so much, many men I spoke with are also thankful for your words of encouragement and teaching. Praise be to God!
